Royal Copenhagen began making their Mother's Day series in 1971. In 1982, the Mother and Child series was introduced and the Mother's Day series was discontinued. When purchasing a 1982, you should be specific as to which series you want. Each annual plate was artistically designed in relief, unique for the year in which it is produced. The year displayed on the surface of the plate is the only year in which it was made.
